About Earth Day
"Earth Day" is most commonly celebrated on April 22nd
each year. Many cities sponsor an "Earth Week" which generally starts April 16th and concludes on April 22nd. Although many have been given credit for starting and sustaining the importance of EARTH DAY... The success of the day has always been given to the grassroots efforts made by students.
The day is intended to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the earth’s environment. Across the country most schools and educators use “EARTH DAY” and “Earth Week” to enlighten their students and community to the simple activities they can practice in their daily lives to protect our earth. The powerful message of “Reuse”, “Recycle” and “Re-Think” can make a big difference in our children's future.
